Drug and Alcohol Addiction
Drug and alcohol addiction is a complex and often chronic problem. It is characterized by craving, seeking, and use that can persist even in the face of devastating life consequences. Counselling can help address underlying causes that enable the addiction to continue in a person’s life. Individuals can learn to live without turning to the addiction to meet their deepest emotional and spiritual needs. However, setbacks are common and can happen even after long periods of abstinence, emphasising the need for relapse prevention strategies and long-term support.
